  • How do I know which Un sizes will fit me best?

Have a look at our Size Guide. It tells you where and how to measure yourself and how to use that to find your Un Size. You can also use it to cross-reference various other standards like EU, UK and International Sizing. Generally, if you want a comfier, roomier fit, we recommend sizing up.

  • How do I know if a product is likely to fit me well?

Step 1: Find your Un size using our Size Guide

Step 2: Pick out products in the Un Sizes you feel will work for you. As every product is unique, you can compare the product’s actual measurements that are displayed on the product page with a few recommended measurements of your own body and clothing, if you’d like. You can find the guide for how to do this on the ‘How To Measure tab’ of the Size Guide page. For example, you can compare the product’s inseam measurement to your own to see if the product works for your height. You can compare the product’s hip measurement with your own to see if your hip size is smaller than the product’s hip size, and so on. You can also take a look at the fabric’s stretchability.

  • What if a product I’ve ordered doesn’t fit me?

You can always initiate a return. We don’t do direct exchanges since every product is unique, but you can visit the site and shop for a new product in a size up or a size down based on if the product was tight or loose for you. Alternatively, here’s a thought if you’ve got the time for it - instead of returning it, find someone in your friends circle who’d like to buy it from you. That way, you help promote upcycling culture and you help save on shipping emissions too!

  • Will I be the same size in all fits?

Once you have figured out your Un size, it will most likely be your size across all fits moving forward. But, since each Un denim is unique, you should always look at the garment’s measurements along with Un sizes to make the right decision. Your size will mostly depend on parameters like waist, hip, chest and inseam for all fits.

  • I bought the clothes and they fit perfectly for a while. But… now they don’t fit me any more. What should I do?

You know you’re not going to trash them. So here are some suggestions:

If they are in good condition: A. Store them safely for a future time when your size might change back. B. Pass them on to a friend who they will fit. The sharing cycle is a huge part of the shift to a Circular Economy and you can do your part.

If they’ve lived a good life and aren’t in a good enough condition to pass on to someone else: Upcycle them into awesome and useful things. How about a bag? Or a pillow cover? A laptop sleeve? Earrings? The possibilities are endless.

  • What goes into making an Un garment?

    - Every Un garment is a high quality denim garment that was discarded by its previous owner. We sort through tonnes of pre-owned denim to find and rescue the highest quality garments that we know can rough it out in a person’s day-to-day life for a good many years to come.

    - We bring them over to our upcycling centre, have them laundered, sanitised and Quality Checked on 23 parameters. We make the minor repairs and face-lifts required to preserve the integrity of the garment.

    - We then set out on the process of upcycling where we make minimal tweaks to the garment so as to keep our refurbishing impact low. What do we do? We replace all the existing rivets, trims and branding, and replace pockets with our signature green pocket.

    - Our entire refurbishing process including laundry and dyeing of the deadstock fabric that we use to make our pockets takes us 23 litres of water per pair on average (as compared to the estimated 3600-7000 litres of water that it costs to make & own a brand new pair of jeans).

    - The result is a renewed, one of its kind garment. You can read more here.

    - Owing to the curated sourcing of pre-owned garments, garments may show signs of natural wear and tear. This is a characteristic of vintage or pre-owned denim and is what makes every garment unlike any other.

  • What’s the story behind the Green Pocket?

We wanted to give you a way to express a few things to the world:

    A. You’re the kind of person who cares about the future of our planet and takes positive action, small or big, whenever you can.

    B. You’re making a conscious choice with upcycled fashion and you want to tell the world about it because you believe more and more people should include pre-loved garments into their wardrobe to help curb the fashion waste crisis.

    You can read more here.

  • Tell me more about the packaging you use.

The Brown Paper Mailer Bag we use is recyclable & biodegradable. The Transparent Bag we use is NOT plastic and is 100% compostable. If you want tips on how to extend the life and use of these bags, here you go.

  • Why choose an upcycled garment over a newly made one?

When you add a rescued and upcycled garment to your wardrobe instead of a newly created one, significant environmental savings are made from avoiding production, processing, and disposal. When you choose upcycled, you help conserve thousands of litres of water, reduce waste and CO2 emissions. Reusing 1 kg of clothing saves 25 kg of CO2.

  • Who are the people behind the product?

Our crew is a mix of the passionate denim lovers who couldn’t bear the thought of good denim going to waste, fashion lovers who want to help the industry make responsible choices, and planet lovers who want to do whatever is within their power to help unf*ck the future. Want to join us in any way? Write to us.

  • What’s the best way to care for an Un denim garment?

When washing your denim, follow these six rules.

    1. Run a cold wash to preserve the integrity of the fibres.

    2. Opt for natural cleaning alternatives as chemicals like bleach and harsh detergents degrade the look and feel of your denim.

    3. Always turn your denim inside out to prevent the colour from fading.

    4. Choose to air dry instead of tumble dry. This will reduce your carbon emissions by up to 1.8kg.

    5. Wash only when needed.

    6. Repair and darn. Denim becomes more ‘you’ and beautiful, the more you wear them, the more you repair them.
